Fifteen minute drive from Gwedna takes you to Porthkidney Beach, on the other side of the estuary from the three miles of golden sand at Hayle. Accessed from the church at Lelant, the beach drops gently towards the sea.  There is limited parking.

A fifteen minute drive from Gwedna takes you to Praa Sands, on the south coast . One of several sandy beaches in clkose proximity along the south coast,  with immediate access to all the facilities within the town of Praa Sands.  There is ample parking.

A fifteen minute drive from Gwedna takes you to Marazion Beach, on the south coast .   The beach is overlooked by St Michael's Mount (National Trust), with a causeway to the island at low tide (boat at high tide). Cafe and other facilities run along  the sea front and in the town. There is a large childrens playground, and seperate childrens fairground rides during the summer. A 25 minute drive from Gwedna takes you to the small and remote Nanjizal Beach, on the south coast, close to Lands End .  The sandy beach has a dramatic mix of rock formations and caves, with the stunning  chasm of Zawn Peggy.  No close facilities.

A twenty five minute drive from Gwedna takes you to Porthmeor Beach, on the west side of St Ives and overlooked by Tate St Ives . One of several sandy beaches within St Ives itself providing immediate access to all the facilities within the town.  There is ample parking in St Ives.
