Cape Cornwall is one of the most westerly points in Cornwall. It is unusual in being the only cape in the UK. There is a carpark and toilet here. Leaving the car park one can walk down a steep hill either to Priest Cove or to the Cape.  The beach at Priest Cove is very rocky, but even so it is still a popular beach. It has the benefit of a small bathing pool. The fishermens' huts and fishing boats above the slipway give it a very Cornish atmosphere.

The rock formation off the beach, is said to represent a giant floating on his back.
At Cape Cornwall there is a sentinal on the top of the peak that can be reached on foot. There are two paths to the top, one relatively easy and long, the second shorter but steeper. The latter may be shorter but is not for the faint hearted. Around the front of the sentinal is seating.

From this high point there are fabulous views; Kendijack, an offshore lighthouse and St Helen's Oratory.

There are the remains of an old chapel, St Helen's Oratory. The site has been used since Roman times, and here was found an ancient chi-rho cross. This was sadly lost, due to a vicar throwing it down a well.
